This was a scene captured at their Grand Rapids home by my oldest son, Greg—about fifteen feet from their bird feeder, toward which both creatures seem to be looking. But if you look close, I think you’ll see that the squirrel’s eyes are rolled toward the rear. And no wonder!
When he sent it to me, I immediately tried to put human-like thoughts in their minds, like: Squirrel says, “Now, if I hold really still, maybe he won’t notice me.”
